EUSPIL course
For the academic year 2025/2026, the teaching activities of the EUSPIL project will be delivered through the course International Law, Outer Space and the European Union. While this course is part of the Master’s program in European Union, Global Processes and Sustainable Development, under the pathway European Union: Internal Processes and Global Challenges, is also open to students from other disciplines. It is offered as a second-cycle, semester-long course.
The course offers a comprehensive overview of international law governing outer space, focusing on the legal frameworks and regimes that regulate its use. It examines current regulatory developments driven by scientific and technological progress and introduces students to the legal tools available to States and the EU to manage growing space activities. Emphasis is placed on the role of the space industry, the evolution of international space law, and EU space policy. Through lectures, specialized seminars, and engagement with key stakeholders, students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to understand space law, EU regulations, and emerging challenges in the sector, and to operate effectively in legal and policy-making contexts.

2nd Cycle of Seminars.
The seminars led by Professor Di Pippo, Doctor Muñoz and Martinez are part of the PhD program in “Scienze Giuridiche, Curriculum: Impresa, diritto internazionale ed europeo, processo civile” at the University of Pisa. However, participation is also open to PhD candidates from other programs, both within Italy and internationally. All interested doctoral students are welcome to attend.
